Our taster classes are a great way to get a feel for throwing on the pottery wheel. Our experienced teachers will guide you through the fundamental techniques: preparing clay, centering and shaping clay on the wheel to create your pottery.

You will have your own wheel and supply of clay and will choose the best piece to have glazed and fired by our team. Before the session ends, everyone will spare some time to help us with cleaning and tidying up, and stamp your pottery. 

General Class Information
There is a maximum of 10 people in each class. The price includes all materials, glazes and firings. At the end of the class, you can choose to keep the pieces you’ve made and the County Hall Pottery team will fire and glaze them on your behalf. Your finished items will be ready for collection in 3-4 weeks depending on firing schedules. You will be notified by email when your work is ready.

All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email. Refunds or exchanges may be granted at our discretion for cancellation requests made at least 7 days before the scheduled class, course, or workshop. No refunds or rescheduling will be offered for cancellations made within 48 hours of the workshop. There are no exceptions. However, you can transfer your place to another individual. Please send us their name(s) in advance.

If you cannot attend a session of a longer course, we can’t accommodate you with another session.
